We went to the Deanna Rose pumpkin patch today with my parents and Uncle Mark and Aubrey. It was a little cold, but turned out fine and wasn't very crowded. Anna had a blast! They had all kinds of fun games and Anna got to pick out her own pumpkin! Carter had fun too but next year will be even more fun when he can finally do something!

Here we are on a hay ride on the way to the pumpkin patch. Uncle Mark and Aubrey came with us and Anna was VERY excited to have them there!! They were good sports about walking around and playing all the games with us. In fact, the entire day was their idea so thanks to them!!

Anna's favorite thing was playing in lots and lots of corn kernels. There is nothing more fun than getting to use buckets and pouring things in and out and in and out....and in and out again...

After naps (I use that term loosely since Anna doesn't nap anymore. She squirms around in her bed instead of napping), we did pumpkin carving. The hilarious thing is that just for giggles we took her shirt off so that we could compare the pics to last year to see how much she had grown. The disturbing thing is that she barely looks like she has grown at all...see below the picture from last year...seriously, the picture below is from an entire year ago...it's just a coincidence that Scott is wearing a red shirt...

LAST YEAR....October 2009...not even 1 and a half yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finished product....great job Daddeo!!! (as Anna likes to say)

Anna and Carter have been having lots of fun playing together at home. Anna is learning to share her toys, which is a good thing because Carter is going to be her size soon! He actually pulled a spoon right out of her hand the other day, even though she was trying not to let him! We were all amazed (especially Anna) by his brutish strength!

Yes, that is Anna's hand peeking out from under her blankie to pat Carter on the head, "That's a good buddy," she says to him. Clearly he doesn't seem to mind. He loves his sister!!

They are starting to spend more time together....

She loves to read him books and he loves to chew on them when she's done.

We spent a fun morning picking apples and doing a hayride last week. She had a blast smelling the "pretty flowers"

Here we are with Anna's friend Lily and my friend Lisa. We've been spending lots of time with them and Anna likes to talk about Lily a lot now.

Anna was very proud of the apples we picked and she got to carry them around, although she found them to be very heavy.

First day of school! Anna started her mother's day out program today at St. Ann's with her friend Lily. Anna had an absolute blast. The teacher said she didn't cry at all and was "cute as a button". We didn't get a ton of pictures because it was raining and a little hectic, but we'll get some next week with Lily outside the school. She was very excited and apparently spent most of the time mothering 2 baby dollies.

Oh, my backpack is so heavy!!!

After I put the backpack on her, she said, "Okay, let's boogie!!"

School is very tiring!!

But she had so much fun that tonight after dinner she got her backpack and lunchbox back out and carried them all around for an hour, demanding to go back to school!!

Anna turns 2!! So these pics are a little out of order, but that's a bit of an indication of our life!

Anna loved all her presents, but is especially partial to dolls right now. She carries them everywhere and when there is a thunderstorm, she says, "Don't worry dolly, it's just a boomer. I promise. It's okay."

Mmmm mmmm, cookie cake is delicious!!! Like mother like daughter!!

Anna actually saw this tricylce at my parent's house a few days before the party. She kept sneaking back into their bedroom looking for it. When we asked her what she was doing she would say, "Where did the bike go?"

This is the best we could do. Maybe eventually we'll get a good family picture where everyone is smiling at the same time!

Carter loves to scream and has the loudest voice you've ever hear. The other day Anna said to him, "Carter that's way too loud!"

"What a show-off! She loves her head towel and we have about 20 of these pictures where is making a different pose.

Finally getting website updated! Since I last updated, we've had lots of things happening: 4th of July, Anna's birthday, a trip to Colorado with my parents (Scott had to work), and lots of fun times at home. These pictures are a bit jumbled with the timeline, and actually I'm missing her birthday, but I'll get those added soon.

Co-chillin'

Storytime

Hiking in Colorado...I didn't carry both of them. Anna walked around the lake!

We took her on a bike ride and she fell asleep in the carrier. Very unlike her!

4th of July parade in our neighborhood. Carter didn't make the wagon but he will next year.

Carter is a very smiley boy

Enjoying some water at Cheesecake Factory...aren't I a big girl?? :-)

Carter's Baptism

Things went great today and thanks so much to everyone for spending Father's Day with us. As we said, we didn't plan it that way, but it worked out pretty well. The kids were both great, although Anna was pretty wild at church. Her cousin Drew was much better behaved, but we couldn't really devote our attention to disciplining her since we had to worry about Carter too. Oh well, we tried! :-) Anna was so happy to have Drew there today so that was fun. Carter was an angel and did great at church and was awake and looking alert for all the pictures so we couldn't have asked for more. Thanks again everyone!!

A picture of the our family with the Carter's Godparents. Uncle Mark is the Godfather and my cousin Elizabeth is the Godmother. Thanks to you both for being her for his special day!

The entire Mullen family

Anna was a little show-off today!!

Greetings from the Mullen family of four! Carter is now 7 weeks old and growing so fast. He's a great little eater that's for sure! He still isn't sleeping longer than 3-4 hours at a time maximum at night, and has started to be pretty cranky in the evenings, but is still a great baby overall and we're so grateful. Anna really loves to pester "Baby Carter" and play This little piggy on his toes. We went to Wichita for Stacy's graduation last weekend and both kids were really great and Anna enjoyed a few days in Wichita after the graduation. Overall, things are going great and we're settling down into our family with 2 kids (yikes!! :-))

Carter loves his swing!
Anna loves to pester anyone who is holding Baby Carter

Look at those boobies!!
Again, pestering and playing "This Little Piggy"
Trent and Anna playing the piano in Wichita...they had a blast and are new BFFs!
This shows Carter's trip to Wichita. He was konked the entire day, even though at home he won't sleep longer than 45 minutes at at time during the day!

Anna enjoying a pickle...she's quite a character!!

Here are a few more pictures of our little family. Things are still going well although he isn't sleeping as well as he was originally. He's still very sweet and Anna really adores him.
